Currency and exchange rates
In Denmark the local currency is Danish Kroner, and therefore all prices on the website are in Danish Kroner (DKK). Here is a link to an easy calculator, for those of you who are not familiar with the exchange rate http://www.x-rates.com/calculator.html.
Foreign credit cards (Visa, Master Card, American Express) are generally accepted in Denmark. However, many of the small shops in Gudhjem do not accept these cards. Therefore we recommend you to bring Danish Kroner. If you cannot get Danish Kroner in your local bank, bring either Euros or US Dollars and visit the exchange office in Copenhagen Airport or Bornholm Airport.
Can I see the programme for the conference?
The detailed conference programme has not been finalised yet. However, a preliminary programme is available here on the registration website. The programme will be continually updated.
What do I need to prepare for my presentation at the conference?
We want all presentations to take place as smoothly as poosible. Therefore, we ask everyone who are doing presentations at the ISISA conference to follow these guidelines:

Bring your presentation along on a USB-stick.

We prefer Microsoft Office PowerPoint.

Handouts must be printed out at home, as we cannot ensure printing facilities at all conference venues (all presenters wil receive information about the number of participants beforehand).

If possible: e-mail your presentation to crt@crt.dk before leaving for Bornholm. Then all technical aspects can be taken care of in advance.
Can you help me with a map of Gudhjem?
This map is a map of the Gudhjem area, which points out all venues in Gudhjem of interest for ISISA delegates.
If you would like a map of the whole island of Bornholm, including detailed maps of villages and towns as well as a map of the island of Christiansø, please download the Catalogue bornholm.info. You will receive a printet copy of the catalogue, when you arrive on Bornholm.
We would like some details about the conference venue?
The ISISA conference on Bornholm will take place in the small town of Gudhjem. The different sessions and workshops will take place at different venues in the whole town - all within easy walking distance. Below we have gathered some information about different locations in Gudhjem which can be used for the conference. The capacity vary between 10 and 160 persons. The final choice of locations for the conference will depend on the number of participants signing up for each workshop.

Any help with practical matters during the conference?
To help you solve out practical matters (eg. accommodation, dinner reservations, taxi etc.) during the ISISA conference on Bornholm, a conference secretariat will be organised. It will be placed in the town of Gudhjem within easy walking distance from all conference venues. Opening hours will probably be early morning and around noon.
I am looking for a bus time table?
This time table is for bus route 3 and 4 to and from Gudhjem. Visit the local bus company BAT for more time tables (unfortunately, the time tables are in Danish only).
What about breakfast?
At all hotels, breakfast is included in the price. For other types of accommodation we have had the following two breakfast choices put together for ISISA delegates only:
Breakfast-to-go from Gudhjem Bakery
1 bread/bun, 1 pack of butter, jam, cheese, napkin, knife and either coffee/the or juice.
ISISA price: DKK 25,- (advance booking is not necessary).
Breakfast buffet / serving breakfast at Restaurant Brøddan
Sign up necessary the night before by the latest.
ISISA-price: DKK 75,-.
What about the excursion programme for Thursdag 26 August 2010?
In the beginning of June the ISISA Excursion Programme for Thursday 26 August will be bookable via the registration website. However, the programme has all ready been made, and below you will find a description as well as a price on each excurtion:
Tour de Schnapps (eau du vie)
Two-hour walk with one of Bornholm’s skilled nature guides along the area around Kobbeåen.
Provided with a bottle (35 cl.) of Bornholm schnapps (the Danish equivalent to eau du vie) each, all participant will blend their own herb schnapps, while we are listening to exciting stories about plants and herbs in the area around Kobbeåen. When home again, you will be able to enjoy a unique schnapps with the taste of summer on Bornholm.
Price (including a bottle of Bornholm schnapps (35 cl.)) DKK 180,-.
Over the hills we go - on bicycle!
 Four-hour bike tour with English speaking guide.
The tour departs from Gudhjem and follows the old railway track, which is now a bicycle path, to Østerlars. We will visit the round church, which is Bornholm's largest. We will then continue to Almindingen – Bornholm’s and one of Denmark’s largest forests. The name means “the people’s forest”. We will pass through rift valleys and scenic landscapes - perhaps a deer will stop and look at us? Other sights are picturesque lakes and a less picturesque "cold war memorial" in the form of bunkers, where Bornholm could continue the administration of the island under a hostile attack. Now a day, the use is less hostile - one of the bunkers has been used for storage of hams and salamis. Don’t say that we are not creative in the periphery of Denmark!

Boat trip to Christiansø
 Three-hour visit on Christiansø.
Christiansø is the easternmost point of Denmark and a very unique place. The old fortress of King Christian V has not changed since its foundation in 1684. The islands have their own circadian rhythm and the rugged nature of the unique landscape offers an unrivalled experience, giving you a sense of the special atmosphere and peace.
Price (including bus and ferry) DKK 310,-.
Energy Tour - the Bright Green Island of Bornholm

I really need my morning swim
500 meters from Gudhjem Holiday Park is Melsted Beach where you will find both a sandy beach as well as rocks. If you prefer a pool you can visit Gudhjem Svømmehal:

Should I bring my running shoes?
Yes, most definately. Gudhjem offers superb running tracks. Here are some suggestions, all departing from Gudhjem Søpark:
Quick City Tour Of Gudhjem (3 km)
From Gudhjem Søpark run towards Gudhjem down through Brøddegade (one of Denmark's
steepest streets) to the harbour. Follow the coast to Nørresand (Gudhjem's second harbour). Turn left
along Løkkegade and follow this street until Brøddegade. Follow the steep road up to Restaurant Brøddan
and turn left onto Lillevang. Follow the road to Melsted and turn right towards Gudhjem
Søpark. A quick very pleasant trip only run on asphalt.
The Salene Route (6 km)
A varied trip with great views and scenic surroundings. Run from Gudhjem Søpark towards Helligdomsklipperne and the Bornholm Art Museum. Approximately 3 km ahead follow the path to the right down to the water. Follow the coastal path back to Gudhjem Søpark. A nice trip in hilly terrain.
The Ultimate (12 km)
On this trip you start by following the main road (there is a bike path) to Bornholm Art Museum and Helligdomsklipperne. The sea is on your right side and with the beautiful rocky coastline, it is the perfect setting for a long run. At the Bornholm Art Museum turn right towards the coastal path back to
Gudhjem, which many people described as one of Denmark's most beautiful coastal lots. The terrain is hilly and nature experiences high on this running track.
Any ideas for excurtions?
Walking
Gudhjem is situated in the middle of the beautiful scenery of Eastern Bornholm and is a good starting point for
walks in the nature. Please ask in the reception for detailed information about walking in the area. We particularly want to recommend:
Fishing village Melsted
 500 meters south of Gudhjem Feriepark is the small fishing village Melsted with its many idyllic half-timbered houses. On the walk bak you can choose to walk along the coastal path - here you have a nice view of the landscape and the Baltic.
Gudhjem Town
With its crooked, steep and narrow streets a walk around the town of Gudhjem is something to recommend all visitors. Consider the many beautiful houses - and don't forget to take a break at a cafe near the harbor and enjoy the special atmosphere.
The Coastal Trail
Both south and north of Gudhjem runs the old rescue path. The tour is in some places a little hilly, so please remember suitable shoes. However, it is worth all the effort. The rocks and the sea forms a picturesque idyll, and it is not hard to to understand why the area around Gudhjem for centuries has been attractive to painters.
Biking
Bornholm has a superb network of bicycle paths, and 100 meters from Gudhjem Feriepark you will find the
nearest starting point. The paths lead you along the small roads, where cars are the exception, and beautiful
nature experiences are the rule.
Into the country
On a warm August day we will recommend a ride into the country along the yellow cornfields. The trip goes
uphill - but on your way home, it will be a whole different story! Slowly trickling you can enjoy the view over the sea and the town of Gudhjem. On the trip into the country, you can visit Bornholm's largest round church - Østerlars round church (5.5 km. from Gudhjem FeriePark) - built in the 12th century. Diagonally opposite the round church you will find the Medieval Centre of Bornholm - smell, feel and touch life back then.
Along the coast
The bicycle paths from Gudhjem Feriepark can also lead you down or up the coast - on both
routes the sea is right next to you. Enjoy the silence and the stunning views. This is how vacation on Bornholms is like!
