Skilled is cool
Skilled is Cool is a development and pilot project aimed at creating new methods to increase the number of skilled workers on Bornholm, while documenting which initiatives are effective in order to inspire other local areas in Denmark. The project is unique because it is being carried out on an island with a very limited range of local vocational training programs, meaning many students must travel for their schooling. This can challenge the opportunities for finding a local apprenticeship. It is also unique because the project owner is Business Center Bornholm, a local business development agency with connections to many local companies. A central part of the project is supporting local businesses in taking on apprentices and ensuring that more students complete their internships, even if the school is located far away. The project is supported by the Nordea Foundation, the Regional Municipality of Bornholm, and Sparekassen Bornholms Fond. CRT is a project partner alongside the think tank DEA, Resonans Kommunikation, and Business Center Bornholm. CRT's mandate is to provide analysis and documentation of the project's mechanisms in collaboration with DEA.
