Maker’s Island – mid-term and final evaluation
Following Bornholm’s designation as a World Craft Region, the Maker’s Island secretariat was established. CRT has evaluated the 2019-2022 period, including both a mid-term and final evaluation, as well as a separate evaluation of the Bornholm Craft Weeks event. The evaluations provide a status on some of the sub-goals formulated by the steering committee at the time of establishment, including developments in job creation, business income, and business establishment within the craft sector; applications to the Royal Danish Academy’s design school on Bornholm; and the visibility and significance of crafts for tourism.
The evaluation highlights the coordinating secretariat, the well-functioning steering committee, and the strong organization and collective mindset of the craftspeople as fundamental elements in the initiative’s great success. In addition to the final evaluation, three other reports have been produced in Danish:
- An evaluation report focusing on Bornholm Craft Weeks 2022
- A mid-term evaluation based on data up to and including 2021, drawing on both register data and information from interviews and questionnaires, including Bornholm Craft Weeks.
- A short presentation of the key points has been created in CRT’s OnePager format.
- Finally, a short summary in English has been produced and published separately.
