Where are the young people in member democracy?

Almost all Danes are co-owners of one or more democratic businesses. As a co-owner, you can participate, run for boards, councils, and representative bodies, and gain democratic influence on important societal issues. However, not everyone is aware of these opportunities or makes use of them. This is especially true for young people.

The study shows that young people lag significantly behind older generations when it comes to engagement in member democracy, as well as in their awareness of (and knowledge about) this specific form of ownership and governance.
