Bio
I do work mainly on tourism (particularly nature-based, sustainable, regenerative), outdoor recreation, local/regional development, energy planning, and green transition.I am a human geographer by training, specializing in the Nordic landscape research tradition. My work often links to area management, physical planning, natural resource management as well as landscape studies. I often work in and with peripheral and island geographies around the globe. Other research interests include human-nature relations and interactions, landscape research in general, sustainable development, resilience, and UNESCO Biosphere areas.I love working in the field, engaging and interacting with local people and stakeholders, thereby getting insight into views, perspectives and opinions ‘from the ground’.I am a board member in Tourism Researchers in Denmark (TiD) and the Nordic Society for Tourism and Hospitality Research (NORTHORS). I am also an associate editor at the Journal of Outdoor recreation and Tourism (JORT) and Tourism in Marine Environments (TIME).
